You can help build your Immune system with Lymphatic Massage. Lymphatic massage, also known as manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), is a gentle technique that stimulates the lymphatic system and offers numerous benefits and is sought after for various reasons. Here are the top reasons people get a lymphatic massage:

1. Post-Surgical Recovery

  • Helps reduce swelling (edema) and fluid retention caused by surgery.

  • Promotes healing of tissues and reduces scar formation.

  • Often recommended after cosmetic surgeries like liposuction, tummy tucks, or facelifts to improve outcomes.

2. Detoxification

  • Stimulates the lymphatic system to flush out toxins and waste products from the body.

  • Supports the body’s natural detox processes, especially after periods of illness, stress, or poor diet.

3. Boosting the Immune System

  • Encourages the movement of lymph, which contains white blood cells that help fight infections.

  • Aids in strengthening the immune response.

4. Reducing Swelling or Lymphedema

  • Alleviates fluid buildup in the limbs or other areas of the body caused by lymphatic blockages.

  • Beneficial for individuals with chronic conditions like lymphedema or after lymph node removal.

5. Relieving Pain and Discomfort

  • Soothes inflammation and reduces discomfort caused by swelling.

  • Can help manage chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia or rheumatoid arthritis.

6. Skin Health and Appearance

  • Improves circulation, which can enhance the appearance of the skin and reduce puffiness.

  • Helps with acne, rosacea, and other skin conditions by reducing inflammation.

7. Stress Reduction and Relaxation

  • The gentle, rhythmic movements of lymphatic massage are calming and promote deep relaxation.

  • Reduces cortisol levels and improves overall mental well-being.

8. Post-Pregnancy Recovery

  • Helps new mothers recover from swelling or fluid retention common after childbirth.

  • Supports hormonal balance and healing postpartum.

9. Managing Chronic Conditions

  • Assists individuals with chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia and lipedema or autoimmune disorders by reducing inflammation and improving circulation.

10. Weight Loss and Body Contouring Support

  • Encourages the elimination of water retention, helping to define body contours.

  • Often paired with other treatments for body sculpting or weight management.

RS: How long have you been an ACTIVE Licensed Massage Therapist?

NG: I’ve been a Therapist for 10 years.

RS: Why do you enjoy lymphatic massage … Why is it a passion for you?

NG: It’s a passion because I like the instant gratification that I get from my clients … when they come to me when they are hurt, swollen, in pain …. I just use my hands and work on them and they feel better immediately after … that’s what brings me joy!

RS: In which cities have you worked?

NG: I’ve worked in Atlanta and Dallas (Frisco), Texas

RS: Do your clients ever give you feedback when it comes to your services, or how they feel or how you made them feel … ?

NG: The biggest thing I’ve ever seen is people referring other people to me, that’s how I know they like the service.  This one lady [new client] … she jumped up and down screaming because she couldn’t zip [up] her pants before she came to me, because she was so swollen after her surgery ...  in her abdomen area … so she just came to me with her pants unzipped … she just had her shirt over it … AFTERWARDS, she could zip up her pants … she was screaming … I thought something was wrong … she gives me hugs … since then she has sent five other people ...

RS: WHOOOOAAA!

NG: …  [who have] also had surgeries. One person is coming to me from Shreveport … another is coming from Houston … the biggest Reward I get is just referrals from other people just because I have one person.

RS: That’s so good … that’s amazing!

RS: Do you take insurance?

NG: No, I do not take insurance; but, I do take HSA & FSA and in the future I will be able to take CARE credit

RS: In your EXPERT opinion, do you have any type of advice, or a benefit you could provide that is not ... popular information found online.  Is there anything about Lymphatic Massage you can share with a future client or someone thinking about surgery or anything … that is not common knowledge?

NG: The one thing …. They never explain the different types of lymphatic techniques … a lot of people do different lymphatic techniques, I have my own techniques that I like to use that works best for me in knowing the anatomy on a deeper level than most people…. It’s not going to be the same technique …. The objective of the technique, the only thing we are trying to do is to get swelling down.  To drain out or stimulate your lymphatic drainage system … My clients like my techniques and I am sticking with them.

RS: It’s common knowledge that people receive lymphatic massage for surgeries, cosmetic surgeries, or what have you … what type of clients, what conditions do they have?

NG: … Pre & Post op clients … people who are trying to lose weight ... people who have swollen ankles from hypertension … or athletes from being swollen from an injury ... those are the types of clients I work on …
