A Heartfelt Gift of Love: Transformative Skincare for Elders on Valentine's Day

As we approach Valentine's Day in 2024, it's a time to celebrate love in its various forms, including the profound affection we have for our elders. In the spirit of this special occasion, we share a touching client testimony that encapsulates the love, care, and transformative power of in-home skin care services for seniors.

Meet Mrs. Griffin, a client who’s daughter not only sought skincare but found a comforting sanctuary through our traveling spa's specialized skin care services. Living with dementia, Mrs. Griffin's journey with our esthetician goes beyond the traditional facials—it's a testament to the love and care that can be delivered directly to one's doorstep.

Our skilled esthetician consistently performs relaxing facials that not only deeply cleanses the skin but also address the unique challenges of stubborn hair removal, leaving Mrs. Griffin with a refreshed and rejuvenated glow. What sets this experience apart is that it unfolds within the secure and familiar confines of Mrs. Griffin's home, eliminating the need to venture outside, a task that can be particularly challenging for those with cognitive conditions.

Mrs. Griffin's daughter, in response to one of her monthly treatments, “Robyn, mom’s skin was absolutely beautiful and glowing yesterday. My brother was especially complimentary of how beautiful her skin looked last evening. Thanking God for your gift of skincare expertise”.

In the realm of love for elders, PS Traveling Spa’s mission is to go beyond skincare—it's about creating moments of tenderness and tranquility. Valentine's Day becomes an opportunity to extend this love to seniors, acknowledging their wisdom and contributions to our lives.

As we navigate the sentiments of Valentine's Day in 2024, let us remember that love maintains healthy boundaries, and our elders deserve to be cherished and pampered. Because, on Valentine's Day and every day, expressing love for our elders is a gift that truly keeps on giving.

My client got sick during her mobile massage!

Can you believe it? My client was not able to finish their massage?! Here is what happened:

I was halfway through the chair massage when the client needed a break. Of course at PS Traveling Spa we are understanding and we don’t like to rush appointments. Client took a 5-minute break.  We resumed the massage and the client stated, “I’m sorry, I am not going to be able to do it” and we stopped the massage.

Me - “Are you feeling dizzy? Nauseated?

Client - “Yes.”

Me - “Did you drink any alcohol prior to your appointment?”

Client - “Earlier.”

BINGO.

Believe it or not, this is not uncommon. If you drink prior to your appointment, you run the risk of feeling sick, dizzy, and/or nauseous. While we love to help our clients relax and unwind, we do not suggest drinking prior to your massage EVER (there is a reason we don’t offer Brut or Prosecco in our spa event packages).

When a Professional Licensed Massage Therapist works the muscles, we also move the lymphatic fluid and any substance in your bloodstream. Below is a list of things to prepare for your upcoming massage.

  1. Refrain from drinking alcohol (especially excessive amounts)

  2. Wait 4 hours if you have taken any prescription medications.

  3. Take a warm bath (or a hot shower) to help relax the muscles.

  4. Shampoo your hair (your therapist may have time to give you a relaxing scalp massage).

  5. Let your massage therapist know if anything has changed since your last visit.
